Supporting SMEs in their long-term sustainable transformation means contributing to Europe’s transition to a more inclusive and environmentally friendly economy.
Moving in this direction, Generali Česká pojišťovna, leader in the Czech insurance market, launched the first edition of the SME EnterPRIZE competition. Designed to reward the best sustainable operating models among SMEs, the project also aims at raising awareness on sustainability, turning participants into a role model for their peers at European level.
Karel Bláha, Corporate Business Director of Generali Česká pojišťovna said “Small and medium-sized enterprises are the cornerstone of the Czech economy. We want to motivate them by supporting their sustainable transformation, also in view of the clear positive correlation between companies’ sustainable behaviour and their financial performance. Sustainable business models can significantly contribute to long-term success and faster recovery after economically difficult periods”.
The registration window for the Czech Republic competition closed on Friday, April 30. An expert jury will select 10 candidates to compete in the final national contest.
The winners, who will be selected on June 2, will receive a financial reward and benefit from media coverage, as well as represent the Czech Republic at the international SME EnterPRIZE Award Ceremony, which will be held in September 2021 in Brussels.
Through this project the Czech Republic is working side by side with other countries, such as Germany, France, Austria and Hungary, also involved in building a more sustainable Europe through initiatives in favour of local SMEs.
